But it seems that most wont buy "low end" gear anyways, for some reason
The Carafino is one example - noone buys this anymore, as so much more performing and interesting models has arrived.
Nothing wrong with the Carafino, and it "led the way" into hydrofoiling years ago, but just dont seem to cut it for us users anymore, eventhough it is quite low cost (compared).
Some brands (Wipika being one), made some low end but cheaper kites without colours and stuff.
They were a big failure, as noone wanted those
So I think evolution has made some of the least performing hydrofoils obsolete nowadays - but the "medium" foils is what most will love and buy (apart from the most performing which is super attractive in itself), but as ozchrisb wrote, the price is of course still high, nothing odd about that and just natural.
