Hi Everyone,
Warning!
This Video is unedited 8 minutes of me foiling a designated upwind/downwind course to get some GPS Data on our AR11 Racefoil. It still might be interesting to some. The board is the proto for the coming Axis Foilraceboard and the Kite is a Peter Lynn Fury 13m2. It's on the lower end of the power for this kite.
For those who are interested the wind was coming from 356°

Awesome data overlay into the video! How did you do that?
The only other data I've seen of speed and tacking angles is from Townsville.
Thanks!

I use a Garmin Virb Elite Camera. It records a separate gpx file together with the video. The Software that is delivered with the cam takes care of the overlay.

Cool video Gunnar, I tried to figure out you foot switch in the transitions but I think I need a few hundred hours of practice.
My latest wing looks very similar in outline, it seems very sensitive. Does racefoil mean very sensitive or fast or??? What are this type of foils strengths and weaknesses? Thanks Dirk

Hi Dude,
Looking at your foil, I think you may profit from the extra Roll and Bank Stability a vertical stabiliser fin while give you. The anhedral front wings are great, but at the cost of roll stability which we compensate with the vert stab fin in our current design. Having better roll stability when going slow (gybe) will make it easier to learn tacks and gybes.
To answer your question about what high Ar race wings are good for.
They are for Racing around an up/down course, so maximum Upwing and Downwind angle at speed. So maximum L/D.
That is why our Race Wing has an AR of 11.
