Done a lot of molds just always waxed and PVA them... tried NC700 but it must of been out of date.. got it from a friend.

I like the idea wipe on wipe off and done.. wax is a pain with the buffing
All the molds of been in the press in a heat cycle to make sure they have been cured.
I think I might wax and pva the first time and after that get some nc700 or safelease 30 ( parts falling out is just what I am looking for)
thanks everyone

ok being sick for the last couple of weeks have slowed me down alittle. Today I went out and got the mast carbon cut and layed up in the molds, It is being pressed as I type.

17 layers of carbon in total in the mast.. 4oz twill, uni and bi ax. mainly UNI to make her stiff for my fat ass.

Had the heat on plus 60tons of pressure for the last 3 hrs. Going to turn off the heat for the night but leave the pressure on over night. ( just don't like the heat blankets on while not in shop)

My weeping holes are working like I wanted too... as the heat came up the extra epoxy started to come out of them so hopefully I have a strong and light part when done.

bottom picture is upside down

will keep everyone posted here

look's like you mold lasted for only one shot.
I like to line my molds with 1/2 inch of silicone. A shore of 60A from Smooth On works great but expensive you need at least a gallon to 2 per mold. You can expect to get 10 to 20 out of each mold.

JP yeah I had a couple of sharp edges on the mould I was worrying about ... they won't be there the next time.. Plus the release I had was out of date so I just waxed it . Lesson learned. but over all I am happy with the way it turned out. Now I can alum ones cut for the mast I think.. Might tweak it alittle

G Been a long time... thanks brother.. hope everything is going good for you
