Ordered the 633... second season now.

Was out yesterday in perfect conditions. Coaching my friend in his first foil season. He's been out about 8 -10 times. He's on LF foil fish, and at fly around and breach stage. Starting to do surface turns, changing direction while flying. Trying to control speed. He's still afraid of speed.
I call this the body slam stage. He's doing well and will surpass me next year cause he's 10 years younger and a better natural athlete.

I'm still struggling with flying footswitch and trying to improve. But my flying carves I do with power and aggressive lean now. So some progression.

There was another guy I've met once plowing around on his TT, so I said to him at the car, " sell your big kite and buy a hydrofoil ". He said " it's there in the car, I bought one after seeing you out there a few weeks ago".. I was like " really!? " he said " oh, you look fantastic out there and I wanted to learn as soon as I saw you doing it". Thats not my self image at all....I think I'm still struggling! So I guess I'm progessing after all...

I told my friend, next year you'll be better than me..

I posted this on another SS H2 vs. H4 thread...

FYI: The old Slingshot H4 is now called the new Space Skate 65, which is the new stock wing for the 2019 Hoverglide kitefoil kit. The new HG kit also comes stock with a shorter ~28" mast. There must be something good about that H4 for SS to use it as the stock HG wing...

The way a foil hovers is inspirational beyond words. Folks watch and awe and they'll be leaving their wakeboards in the car sooner or later to fly the foil.

I call my self a " Foil Hat". Today was 4ms, a bunch of guys dropping big kites in the water. Floundering. I put up the Sonic 2 13m and dragged out. Got up immediately.
Too bad there was a ton of sea grass and had to give up after harvesting it for 3km...
So not all good....

I just re-read my last post on july 18… I had then 620 hours of foiling then … I am now at 748hours of foiling and I know I am still Improving, but to the untrained eye… not much difference. I still practice on a racing foil (Spotz TUNA) and a slow foil (Impulse from Liquid Force). I have probably reached the limit of my abilities, but since improving is a very good incentive, I kept at it. I have notice that if I do duck tacks in succession, like every 20sec, I can get more than 95% of them, but if I do a very long distance before tacking, then my success rate falls dramatically. This Is not very good for racing. Oh yes talking about racing… I still do not like going fast. Still Very difficult for me to go above 20kts with my Spotz. I dont like to talk about age, but this year I have been needing more and more "rest" days. I have to limit the amount of days I am on the water...

I also wish I was 50 years old again, or make that 40, or even better 30...

Ha! Saw my post from 9 months ago!! What? Now I'm doing flying footswitch in both directions, both stances. Feel like I've reached a plateau.
Think I have 250-300 hours now.
Want to learn 360...
