The Groove looks great, loads of scoop (nosekick) which is simply awesome
But it should not be compared with the Ketos 118, as the last one is a somewhat smaller board, that many prefer for waves and stuff, some even the 107, but I dont like such short ones...
The comparison should be to the Ketos 130 which is a very similar board regarding size
The reason why the tail is tapered a bit, is to avoid it to catch the water in tight carves, as here the rear end of the board is closer to the water than the nose - and if not for light wind, you dont need area at the rear.
But for lower winds, area is really helpful indeed - so ups and downs no matter what
