Wow! e-Foil, ultimate low wind...How does it work?

This is amazing video of an electric hydrofoil board. How the hell does it work? You can't see the motor.
But the idea of being able to ride in zero wind looks incredible.

What do you think of this ?

Pretty cool! Windfoil does not seem to be getting as much attention and I would have expected but foils on SUP's offer huge potential. This is cool for us as it offers a greater market for manufacturers to develop to and we all win.

Nice development indeed!
I imagine, in order to cut costs for their first prototypes, they used existing technology, for example electric outboard motors, adding wings and fuselage. There is loads of volume in the SUP board for storing the batteries.

Hydrofoils have offered so much promise for boating for decades. It's great that there now so much potential.

Ha haa, precisely :thumb:

Really interesting development though, although I would not get one as I would never get a boat with a motor either :naughty:

Indeed!
Development stalled for some reason.
Only the Russians had a relatively broad spectrum of hydrofoil equipped boats, from small tenders powered by an outboard up to passenger ferries.
We had those (upgraded to German engines) for a decade here in the Netherlands as an alternative for busses.
Unfortunately, their shortcomings caused a serious accident. That was the end of the hydrofoil passenger ferries over here. I loved the sight of such a vessel sailing by with 75km/h!
