From the Hydrofoil Pro Tour in La Ventana, this is the latest model held by the designer/builder George Hradil of Delta Hydrofoils.

My Delta foil has the mast basically touching the trailing edge of the front wing. Any thoughts as to the design change on that front? If you start moving the forward wing more forward vs the mast I guess you need more forward pressure or the mast insert into the board further back. I'm just asking to learn as my board insert position and foil are really nice and a couple advanced foilers just loved my setup. I'm curious if by looking at the mast distance from the front foil cannot be evaluated unless you analyze the insert position into the board as well. Does this give the racer a better advantage, etc?

I don't know anything, but I've read here on this forum, that having front wing further from strut/mast, or to put it another way, the strut further back on fuselage, will make whole set up more pitch sensitive.
Meaning, you'll have to be more sensitive to forward/aft weight distribution while riding.
But like most things, I'm sure there are multiple factors influencing pitch sensitivity.

Yes, the new ones have the rear tuttle bolt under the rear footstrap I believe. The front wing is still in the same position relative to the footstraps. With the strut further back on the board, the board has to be made stronger because now the moment arm from the front footstraps to the strut-board connection is much longer.

Having the strut further back makes the foil more stable, especially in yaw.

I don't think that's the case. I've heard the new ones are more stable in all directions including pitch.

Everything else being equal, it is just the opposite. Issue in the past was to keep the fuse from flexing. New gen race foils are stiffer. What suffers is ability to make tight turns and certain playfulness.
