I gave the Lickity Spit (standard Spitfire rear wing + XLW front wing) a go today in flat water. Works surprisingly well!!!
Better turning then the XLW wings, almost the same take off speed, but much faster. The XLW is a bit slow in flat water but the Lickity Spit was fun. My initial impression was that flying gybes were much easier since it seems to handle front foot weight better than the stock setups.
I thought it would take a bit of front foot pressure but it seemed to like a balanced front/rear foot pressure. Still carved a nice turn off the back foot.
Worked so well that I think Zeeko should offer an option to just buy the front XLW wing.

As I was eyeing a shorter 700mm mast to accommodate one of my local flat water spots, I see on
http://zeeko-kites.com/gb/foil-series/3 ... plate.html the following warning
"Be careful 40, 60 and 70cm masts are not usable with the Spitfire". Any idea why? What would happen with a short mast?

I asked them on the phone and they said the spitfire mast is cut at an angle so that mast you posted wouldn't give it the right angle of attack. they also claim they've tested it with a shorter mast and it doesn't work.

The alloy masts are all the same, it's the base plate for the Spitfire that is angled.
I have a 60cm and 95cm mast with angled baseplate.
Havent tested the 60cm (shallow) yet.

Does anyone know what all the screw sizes are for the Spitfire? What I can find online says the back wing screws to the fuselage with 3 M5 20nm screws, but I think mine has one shorter one, maybe 15mm?
