Received 548 wing from Frank. Great service Frank.
Outline looks identical. But foil shape is fuller. Will be interesting to see if a noob can tell the difference.

I bet you will notice it big time! The shape of the foil is a major element.

How much does mast shape/profile have on the riding characteristics?

Today I've tested the Fluente wing 550 and the rear wing with winglets on a Vorace mast and I can say that is not as easy as Silente, it is not a beginner foil at all. if you want to learn to foil and enjoy the process you'd better get another thing.

Many people around here learned to foil on the Fluente already. Many will follow.
I agree that there are other foils that make the first steps easier, but then people often feel the need to change to their second foil quite soon, which is not the case with the Fluente.
Actually I have been impressed a few times how soon some people felt the need to get a new foil, often that was the Fluente then. In some cases after less than 10 sessions on another 'beginner' foil.

Cheers,
Frank

However having FR425 or FR450 adoptable to present Moses fuselage would be the easiest way to make first steps.
I keep one Silente mast and both old wings for people trying for the first time. The progress is faster according to my observations.

These wings were not working that well for me personally really, so I totally understand and agree with Moses' decision to discontinue them.
According to comments around here there seems to be a gab in the Moses line for a certain group of people, or the new W548 wing has not been tested by enough people to be considered as a proper replacement, as this is how I see it.

Ok, today I was out 1,5 hrs in 14-16 knots wind with a 12 Mono and a 2016 Fluente setup and 548 front wing. Basically, I can't feel any difference in this wing compared to 550.

I'm noob, and at 11th session. I did have a great session with good controlled flight and being able to carve some relaxed slalom turns, fly a different points of sail pump the foil and generally get the feel. I crashed a lot too.
But 548 wing did not fly at a perceptively slower speed for me. I'm a noob, so I'm not a connoisseur. But you can be sure, if you are a beginner, the 550-548 doesn't make much difference.
I'll keep it on and have the 550 as a backup as I will no doubt bounce off some rocks this season.

I've been riding the Moses 560, 550 and 548 for a while now. Massive difference in riding:

548 - carves waves extremely well, drops down wave faces like a champ. The wave drops are addictive and exhilarating on this foil. Not as good for light winds, surprisingly. Boosts massive. Use 325 stabilizer.
550 - more straight line fast riding with some carving, a bit too fast for wave faces, easier to keep on foil. Boosts massive. Contrary to description seems to take off easier in lighter winds. Use 330 stabilizer
560 - like 550 but worse in every way. A V1 of 550.

Will stick with 548 for sure and will try to figure foot/strap position to stay on foil in lighter winds. Both foils are not meant for light winds and really start working at 15+ mile days. What I would love to know is if anyone has used the 330 stabilizer on 548 wing?

@TomW
quite surprised about what you report.
Did you ride both wings during the same session? As different days, different conditions can make a big difference regarding personal impressions.

My impressions are a bit different:

548/330 way slower than 550/330 (or /325), more lift, easier to ride slow and take-off slower
550 (/330 or/325) quite a bit faster which makes it better for light winds (when you can handle the acceleration and speed advantage directly when get going and take-off)
560 (or new version of it: 558) /330 is my personal go to wing when not in 100% race mode, does everything really well. A bit more speed oriented than 550.
600/380 pure race performance - very well balanced

Cheers,
Frank
