Dear Frank,

do you and guys maybe have experience that you crash Moses Fluente or Vorace.
When somebody will go for longer holidays with Moses which spare parts should have with him? Front wing, maybe fuselage?
Mast looks strong?

Thanx a lot for your help,
Ales

Hi Ales,

that really depends what you do or what happens.
I guess a set of spare screws is always a good idea just to be covered when you loose one somehow (not while riding).
Apart from that probably the frontwing is the part with the highest risk of getting damaged by hitting something under water. In most cases it will be repairable though.

Cheers

Wondering if there's any measurement data for the Moses plate adapter.
http://www.moseshydrofoil.com/adattator ... ses-mhw030
Obviously meant to fit their foil of 90x165mm, board side dimensions?
thanks

67,5 x 148mm
This was used by Moses before 2016 on foil plates and boards.
The Adapter makes it possible to mount their newer foils to their old boards.

Hello everyone,

I dont come to this forum for a long time, but now ive a new addiction which is the Hidrofoil, and since there is more experience people here, i would like to share some info:

I recently bought a Moses Fluente 2017 with the T40 Board which comes with the 550 FW and the 325 STA, and ive around 5 sessions of pratice on it, i also was able to test some other foils to compare, this is what i feel:

My Fluente feels like it needs quite alot of speed, if i try to foil at a lower speed it with "stall" and "sink" after 2 seconds, if i do give the speed it needs then i get alot of lift and ive alot of trouble to control the speed, it just keeps on aceleration until eventualy i crash (at this point im already going downwind to try to stop it). Without any lift im able to cruise around very easily, and go upwind with no problem at all.

I tested the old Silente which comes with a 560 FW i believe, and it feels like it lifts at lower speeds and its easier to control that lift, shouldnt the 560 be a more performing wing?

Also tried the VORACE with the 558 FW, which feels it needs even more speed then my 550 Fluente, and its even harder to manage the speed and control it.

Im still using my wakestyle kites Slingshot Fuel, i normaly go on the 7m above 15knots and 9m under that, with 27m lines, i know those are not ideal for foiling but i still need more experience to decide which kites i want for hidrofoiling.

Any hints?

Regards

Hi Pedro,

I would think that you'll be fine after a few more sessions getting used to it.
It is a great foil.

Your kites do not sound ideal indeed, but knowing your kites well is a good thing too.

Cheers

Hi Frank,

Thanks for the answer, ive seen that you have tested them all.

Ive some questions for you:

1- Trying to foil with a "ollie" at low speed and keeping the foil up its possible and im jut a noob that stalls the foil, or this wing requires a minimum of speed otherwise it will stall and "sink" despite of rider skill?

2 - Why did i feel that the Silente had more lift then the 2017 Fluente, it has a 560 wing, shouldnt it be more performing / less lift at low speed ?

3 - My friend that have the VORACE 2016 with the 560 Wing its quite heavy and its taking an hard time to learn on it, of the 6 guys that are learning he is the one that have the "more performing foil" and its taking a hard beating, he is also the one that have learned less so far, should he change the front wing for a 548 or 550 ? Will it work on the VORACE 2016 ?

Thanks

Hi Pedro,

548 is the Moses wing with most lift at lowest speed.
It fits any mast in combination with 330 or 325 stabilizer.
In general Moses foils like to be ridden dynamically, not to say with speed... You may call it sportive maybe.
I like this s lot and have seen many beginners master it with the Fluente.

Cheers,
Frank
