I ride both and agree there are some similarities in pitch and yaw, but the oneeheel has almost no roll compared to foil. The closest you can get is only on soft wet sand or super low tire pressure.

They just ubgraded the motor in the onewheel, adding torque and another 4 mph to the top speed. Also improved the foot pads by adding a bit of shape/lift near the ends.

Word is they are about a year away from a full 2.0

It's awesome, but not without its downside!

lol! how'd it go having to explain to a skateboarding injury at the office!?

I'm (also?) way to old to skateboard but asked for one for Christmas....my wife laughed at me openly.
looks like a ton of fun. I tried to get the kids to ask for it....then I could claim awesome dad status when buying it.....sadly they weren't into it.
I was cool once.....Really.

I agree with that. The need for constant front foot pressure to keep Onewheel going makes it a good land tool to practice toe side riding and turning. Benefit is that I can concentrate on body balance and don't need to worry about the kite. I ride on grass or sand mostly so falling down is not a big deal and learning the moves is rather less scary on Onewheel than on foil. Has to do with distance to the surface I guess.

OneWheel+ is out for pre-order!
And it is soo much better than v1.

On sale $450 OFF the first 48 hours. Which is ALMOST over by the way.

I just bought one!!

Can you tell me how exactly you practice foiling gybe on it? I did not quite understand the (back leg lifted ) part. Don't you fall off of it if you not standing on 2 feet? Or is it self-balancing?

Looking forward to ride it here in SG on the beach and on the trail.

I was in Seattle for a business trip back in 2009 and went to a store in search for a wetsuit. Spent half a day at the other half of the store where they sold skateboards. Demoed many, figured out the way I rode is called "pumping style", realized the guy at the counter helping me wasn't even born yet when I rode last time. Came out of the store with a brand new shorter classic shape longboard on Bennett-Vector trucks and 70mm wheels.
That beautiful surfing feeling on soft bushings.

I ride it to the day, I streetkited with it under 3.6m foil on dual lines. Got new Bennett bushings last year. Not a single second of regretting it...

Get a skateboard, live life, be your own hero!

That really sucks! Besides me two people I know wiped out fairly hard. Usually damages are torn closes and bad scratches, no broken bones, knock on wood. And don't tell me about protective wear, since there's no body armor for below the knee or to cover the hip. Asphalt is hard and abrasive.
My Segway pushes back well at any speed, be it in learning or full power mode and really limits it to 12-12.5mph in full speed mode. But wiping out off the Onewheel because it bites the ground at full speed is just BS and asks for firmware update or recall which hopefully comes before class action suite. Hopefully it'll come before Chinese knockoffs will be first to address this issue. That'd be really embarrassing.

Segway......lol stop post here
