Well it depends who you ask. Alex Jones says he's from Kenya.
I think it's very cool that he's out there relaxing with Branson and he tried a new sport. I didn't see that Kerry's interest in the sport had any impact on our beaches, thus this likely won't either. Maybe it was just a lark, but hopefully he enjoyed it enough that he takes some time to get into kiteboarding. Influential people in the sport can be a good thing. Hopefully he had fun.
