I'm considering joining the rapidly growing ranks of foilers at my local - but the only kites I have are Cabrinha Chaos's. Is this going to make learning to foil much more difficult? im also considering swapping my quiver to switchblades, but obviously that's not going to be cheap!
Thanks

For starters just keep flying what you got and know. Best thing you can do for easy learning.
Later you'll find out what else you'll want from your kites and can make the right choice.

C kites won't make it easy though...Worth learning on your existing kites just be conscious that you're taking a smallish size until you get the hang of it.

But make sure to pick the size that you do not have to move the kite much to get up on the board.
Less kite movement, more attention on board/foil handling.
Later it is possible to foil with half the size if technique is good, also possible to handle a lot more power later, in case you are into that...
Cheers

It's really important to keep kite calm and not moving too much when water starting. I learned that this Sunday, I was all over the place. the foil deep in water is super reactive to any inputs from kite through you, way more than a surfboard or TT.

Switchblades?
too heavy for foiling!
I'd go for Velocity or Apollo.

I'd would go for Velocity or Apollo.
If your staying with Cabrinha, the Drifter is another very good option for foiling.

I think initially the chaos would be a bit difficult, because you will probably end up spending some time fully sheeted out trying to dump power thinking "holy shit im going to die if i don't slow down". Once you can ride with more control it's not as big of a deal, but yeah I wouldn't want to foil with a C kite, having a ton of depower at the bar is just so convenient.
If you're currently on a chaos i assume you wouldn't want to switch to a velocity or apollo (i wouldn't either) but a lighter weight 3 strut would be heaps better than the switchblade unless you don't care about lightwind performance. Maybe something like the FX would be more suitable, not sure as I haven't flown it. I just switched from a nitro4 to the new envy and have been happy with that as an all around freestyle/wave/foiling kite.
