Twintip hydrofoil?? Any news test??

Yes. I have now ridden a foil. One i built myself. And its not easy. Something to work on. And my mind is still open to trying different things.

Perfect analogy, you'll realize that once you can ride the foil and have tried a few more. Unlike a political opinion, some things ARE just wrong.

I dont think a TT foil would be easier to ride, but instead a bit or a lot more difficult, as it does not track and stabilise the same way, and not evenly balanced on feet unless you have the sliding fuselage (and making things even more complex is usually not a good road)
Yes, you dont have to "jibe", but that would be the only advantage, and does not really come into play until you have learned to ride a bit.

It works, no doubt at all, and a few of the pioneers in here has actually built and ridden one I know

You should also ask in the Kitesurfing part of the forum, as here on the Hydrofoil forum almost or everybody has learned to ride (directional)hydrofoils, so you wont find anyone who seeks a TT foil of course.

Maybe it could be good for some freestyle, landing blind and reverse and such.
But your jump height will suffer a lot on these, so not so sure really

Strapless as maybe the majority of hydrofoilers rides after the learning period, seems a bit dubious on a TT foil, or ?

Let us see what happens, maybe there could be some advantages one day, or a new design that rocks everything !

That's a good thing, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

That being said, there is a difference between good ideas and bad ones. From a technical engineering standpoint, a bidirectional foil simply cannot perform to any degree worth remarking.

Strut located equally between feet? Bad idea.

Wing shapes that lift in both directions? Bad idea.

Strut mounted equidistant on fuselage between wings? Bad idea.


I'm an avid snowboarder and almost all snowboards have a front and a back, but they can be ridden switch to a limited degree, freestyle boards much more so versus all mountain.

A directional foil that can be sorta ridden backwards might be cool so you can ride switch out of tricks, but it would definitely be mostly directional just so that it could actually work.

I think this is the point why this topic is popping up every year.
Non hydrofoilers think: TT easier than directional, therefore: TT hydrofoil (TTH) easier than dirictional hydrofoil. But just from the theory that has to be wrong.
TTH as the french design in the russian video (thanks, translation would be interesting)
ride like a canard and are therefore more instable than normal. For sure not as instable as a mono but how the user in the video moves, looks pretty similar to instability of a mono.

I think the "TwinFOIL" has an interesting construction detail with its sliding fuselage, but consequences for usage (bathing the butt every turn) and hydrodynamics are not attractive.
