Cross off hydrofoil wave riding. Anyone done it?

So the more offshore it gets the harder it is to ride a wave on a traditional board. You end up spending a lot of time cranking upwind to get into the pocket. Plus the waves outrun you easily and you can be chewed up and spat out.

So my theory is that the HF with its silly upwind angles will be able tackle more offshore wave riding conditions.

I now need to find some silly offshore wind and swell to confirm my theory.

Anyone beaten me to it and rode some cross off goodness on the hf?

Interestingly!

A worthy attempt in solid swell.

Doesn't look like he rides any steep faces. Looks more like he skirts around the big swell and get the hell out before being pounded.
And I don't blame him at all.
