You could always just mount a Bixpy jet on the board.
Will run you around USD1200 for the Bixpy and a spare mast and plate, and some elbow grease.
Mount it behind or in front or even below the fuselage.
Make it easy to dismount the whole contraption and you have a normal foil board again.

Or scubajet once it is available . 1000 euro and u have ur own lift. Not integrated, but I rather only buy motor, not yet another complete foil set.

Ur board needs to be big enough (volume) to get going.

Why are they not using small water "jet" engine and instead using propeller ?
Sounds realistic - put the batteries and pump inside the board, have intake and the propulsion pipes go inside the mast and have a nice jet foil, quiet and beautiful.

^thats a funny picture with the outboard but I think ya want the thrust, centers of gravity and lift to be closer together.. if that makes sense..

At $12,000 a pop I doubt we'll see anywhere getting overrun with them...

My self and few others are working on a efoil unit using crowdfunding and crowd design. Looks like the entire unit can be built for under $4k, and just the propulsion system and waterproof surfboard remote control will be less than half that cost. It's the Hydrofoil and board that carry a ton of cost.

Isn't there a way to just design a motor/fan for propulsion that can be attached to the mast, or two motors in parallel, that can be mounted on the mast, close to the fuselage. Modular - so you can add/remove when ever you want. That would be a lot cheaper, as a few people already have the Board and Foil, and used ones are getting cheap.
