I sure hope this assembly can be purchased to slap on to my non MHL setup.

Awesome, but I wont get one. Will be a while before it has the power to handle the kind of riding a kite lets you get out of a foil, and we don't have the waves without wind.

Could see it being awesome for catching swell.

I bet you have to tow up at this point or they would show a start.

I bet you're right. I also bet that board is full of lipo batteries.

What happens when you fall?

Is there a kill switch attached?

It seems it is just a small attachment to the foil mast with no connection to the board: http://liftefoil.com/blog/. Unless the batteries are integrated in the mast.

Wondering what the battery life is.. great work on making this happen MHL :thumb:

Real bummer if they actually work. These will be even worse than jet-skis. I can envision all surf spots near tech/wealthy cities being over-run with these. Without the need for wind, these will be in direct conflict with swimmers, and snorkelers, not to mention accessible to riders who didn't spend years honing skills and learning responsibility. I'm worried that kiters will suffer from the push-back (a "no hydrofoils" law might be easier to implement than "no electric hydrofoils in popular surf breaks or near swimmers").

Well, there was already http://www.jetfoiler.com, with maybe a more buoyant platform for more Li-Po capacity and an easier start. Let's see how this compares...
