Hydrofoil travel destinations

Postby TomW » Mon Apr 24, 2017 1:13 pm

I'm thinking about going on a week long hydrofoiling vacation. What's the best place in Europe in mid September? Looking at Hang Loose beach - Gizzeria Lido Italy, but open for other suggestions. I'll go without family, so looking for 100% kitesurfing time.
Other option is international outside Europe in November -December or January.

November is still good in Mauritius, if you aren't too fussy about where you stay you can get somewhere for under €30 a night in Mahebourg and the just opened https://www.mauritiuskiteboarding.com/ will be able to give you great training.

Failing that the Caribbean is great at that time of year (through to Feb), I know you can foil at http://www.jeremietronet.com/ in the grenadines http://www.kitesurfgrenadines.com/ or you could look into a cruise option and kite off the boat everyday.

St Lucia has a place by the airport, I stayed at the Reef beach huts (very basic, but cheap for st lucia), the water was flat and there weren't any coral heads, so that's an option too.

Outside EU Brazil would be great.
Cumbuco is perfect for foiling, gets deep immediately.
And always wind, specially with a hydrofoil. December and January have less wind, if you don't want 15-25, otherwise November is good.

But January is kinda off season, so rooms should be cheaper.
It's Brazil, so if you come alone it's still fun.

In EU Sardinia is beautiful! Beautiful water to ride along...nice culture, food and people. Many beaches for kiting.

Check on http://se.kiteforum.com/spots

But Hangloose Beach should be good too...I have been there and it's a nice place, with good party.
Try their Tartufo...it's so delicious 😋

Thanks, decided to go back to Parajuru in October. It's a bit choppy at high tide, but I'm progressing well and hope to be able to tackle the conditions. Flow and ebb tides have some interesting conditions. All sand bottom. Will bring surfboard and TT.
I may seek in a Sardinia or Gizzeria trip too.

May and September are Great as you have good winds and empty beaches.
With summer restrictions come up.

But July and August has warm water, just shorts...before a wetsuit or shorty is needed.
