Aaah, okay.
I would say, when you got the hang of it and can ride okay, move the mast forward.
As you will soon be able to ride balanced in the rear strap - the more experienced you are, the further rear the strap (or forward the mast, same thing), and very important, you can ride rear foot in front of the rear strap foiling in okay balance, when jibing
The rear mast position is as said, mostly when learning to avoid you get up too fast - so not a good balance, but "safe" in terms of NOT foiling too easy
PF
Thanks Peter. In fact I had a session last night with the mast forward a bit, and I did find it more balanced with the extra front foot pressure.

I was totally incorrect. I went back and looked at the Slingshot learning Vid and they say to have the Mast all the way BACK towards the rear of the track on the Alien Air as you guys said. I started with the LF 18 inch Short Mast all the way up front and was foiling at will in 10 minutes. I must be loosin my Gords!!
Still unclear as to why the Long Mast doesn't seem to be an easy transition.
