Solid profiles are never used, because it is just waste of material.

tegirinenashi, this is not really correct. While it is true that hollow structures are stronger than solid FOR A GIVEN WEIGHT, a solid structure OF A GIVEN DIAMETER is stronger than hollow. Assuming that hydrofoils are more constrained by width than by weight, they should not be hollow.

I have this setup too. But I have the higher volume freeride board RX-V5S with the Sport Wing with winglets. This is my fourth season foiling. I started with AlpineFoil's carbon setup with the XLP wing. I have not ridden any other foils, but the first setup got me going and held up very well. The Ti Ultimate is fantastic! It is much faster and very stable at speed, but also very maneuverable. I am extremely pleased with this equipment

About the pointy nose on the fuselage: I've never had any impact with the tip of the fuselage. Never. Not in 4 years and maybe >400 sessions.

The bottom line for me: I love the AlpineFoil Ti Ultimate! It has a fantastic, smooth feel through the water. It's well made, the company is good to deal with and they know what they are doing. Damien has been very responsive and helpful with the few questions I have had over the years. The availability is good. You would not have to wait long after placing an order. I am really happy that I bought the AlpineFoil

Ha ha,

funny you mentioned this, tuna is probably the only fish built as an I-beam with a highly aerobic meat of the skeletal muscles and way less aerobic or even 'anaerobic' meat elsewhere.

The Sport Wing is more stable. It is much easier to change stance and gybe, despite the fact that I am going much faster. But I'm coming from the original XLP wing. They are selling an XLP2 now, I believe.

Also, the low end on the Sport Wing is not as low. I had to get a bigger kite. On the XLP I used a 12 m Speed 4 Lotus for light wind. On the Sport Wing, I use a 15 m Sonic 2 as my largest kite.
