Easy peasy. Use a small kite and loopidy loop loop loop.

Much more fun of course is to S turn down wind whilst loopidy looping

Or use a slightly bigger kite that drifts well and no need to loop it. Just ride downwind with it between 11 & 1, it will just float along. Though if you get over powered it can be interesting as you accelerate with apparent wind and can't spill off the power.

Doing s turns, carving around in the wind swells is super fun.

There's no point really. Foils are so efficient that you downwind VMG will be greater than the true wind speed if you do a series of gybes.
If you do insist on going dead downwind with a foil, your better option might be to borrow a small spinnaker from a dinghy and do it keelboat style

Otherwise yes, series of downloops/kiteloops with a small kite to maintain apparent wind in the kite.

Big kite drift at 11/1 only works to a point. After that you need to loop otherwise the kite falls out of the sky.

Little kite loop gets you downwind better.

Actually, you can not do this - unless there is sufficient wind.

You need quite a lot of wind, in order to do this, depending on your wing.

In less wind it is not possible at all, as your wing will stall at some speed, and you can only ride slower than the wind.

So as said, going deep downwind and not straight is much faster of course - but if you have to go straight downwind through a narrow channel and you would like to foil through, you need to know how to.

Or if you are Keahi de Aboitiz then, you just release your kite letting it drift downwind while you pump your foil downwind to catch it. :thumb:

Go as fast as you can with the largest race foil you can hold down on your way to the windward mark...

nice one ;)

The other day wind was really light and if I did transition too wide my kite would fall out of the sky, I guess my kite doesnt drift well ;( even with loop it needs good timing so it doesn't stall.
My buddy told me he can head pretty far downwind even if kite doesn't drift well, making sure he downloop it keeping it on one side of window so kite doesn't cross wind has it loops.

Still a total noob but my last session I was playing with trying to head far down, I accelerate crosswind and turn downwind slow until you can't hear wind anymore ;)
a couple of time I still needed to loop the kite when I noticed the tension was going down a lot.

A lot of fun stuff to learn ;)
