20 knots and don't want it

Postby TomW » Sun Jun 25, 2017 3:35 pm

Sitting here looking out on solid 20+ knots, 1,5 m wind swell, and sunshine, getting ready to go out on surfboard.... But would have preferred 12 knots and the foil....
What a mental mess...

Bring both to the beach and mix it up! Fun and challenging to play around in varied conditions.

Assume that means 4ft waves breaking on the sand bar. That should mean nice size swell trains in the deeper water, which may be super fun to play in. Point being... First slash some wave faces on your surfboard then go do some downwind swell carving on the foil. Don't have to choose if you can have it all. :-)

Give me 20kts every day. I went out in 10 - 12kts yesterday, kite dropped, couldn't re-launch and had a long swim in. The range in between is the best though.

Just get a 5m kite and you'll be fine!

Ha haa, we have all been there Tom :naughty:

When learning hydrofoil and loving it more and more - we often wanted less wind (and sunny days), because it was so awesome, so "not liking" the windy days is well known :D

Later you will appreciate riding your waveboard on these days, and as others have said, mix it up with hydrofoiling in waves - it can be AWESOME :thumb:

I was out this weekend too (I guess we have the same wind as you this weekend as the low pressures are passing just from here in Denmark to Sweden)

Both on my "Wavefoil" and Waveboards.

Windy so used my 3.5 m2

20 knots and 1.5m?

Get into on the foil. That's crappy for waves anyway!.....

It is a standard (high modulus) 100 cm mast.

I think it is the 118 cm board and small kite that gives the impression the mast is longer :naughty:
