Hi all,
looking to make some line extensions, I have seen that there are various ways to do this by splicing the lines. However if you have some sleeving is it as simple as sleeving the end of the line and burning the tip and then tying in a figure of 8 or a loop accordingly and thats all?!
many thanks
Neil
Yes, that is all there is to it
Done this on all my bars, except the one used with waveboards so normal shorter lines no extenstions.
Usually I have some old lines from worn out bars or cut lines I keep for this, so I simply cut these down and use the perfectly sewn loop and knot ends, and I only have to sleeve maybe half as much myself
If you got a perfectly smooth sewn loop end, you could (if you like me have different line lenghts on your bars and change bar instead of wasting time on extension changes) put the loop into the loop on your existing lines, thus you wont get these 4 distracting knot/loop connections, only two - a lot more elegant.
Splicing would be great and the best no doubt, but I dont have the time for this and too lazy maybe - I want to live and to surf instead
