As a beginner, I thought that the main advantage of the mast length is the effortless cutting through the highest chop, so the longer the better.
What is your preferred mast length and why? (besides the shortest for initial learning)

I have a 107 and 90...
For hooligan riding I prefer the 90, the 107 Is nice in the chop thou
I think if I had to pick one I would go with the 90, although I ventilate it more frequently it's nice to slash around and really get aggressive with it

I've used a 90 and a 100. I prefer the 100 because the extra length makes it much easier to keep the wing in the water when things go a little wrong. Its also fun to ride a little higher. When I get a wave specific foil I'll go with a shorter mast for more control.

I used 100cm Sword2 before and I was very happy with it. I switched to 110cm Sword RS and I'm even happier with this mast length. Better upwind performance and more confortable to pass the chop.

I am on the 98 cm Taaroa Joy and happy with it. I was on slightly shorter masts before and I would not want to go back to shorter.
Just so we are all on the same page, you should measure your mast length between the bottom of your board and the the front wing.

I love the:
102 – for really windy days, big boosting, unsettled chop and pulling G's on jibes
90 – love for most days, big wave riding
71 – looove for hooligan riding, freestyling, learning new tricks and low tides

111cm - delighted wit it in all conditions except waveriding (then 91cm).
We did the Baltic crossing two days ago. Two riders had 11cm and one 100cm. After the crossing the one ordered Comet 111 mast straight away.
