How many Hfoilers are in your spot?

Postby abel » Thu Jul 27, 2017 8:36 pm

In my spot I'm the only one.
Sporadically there's a Hfoiler that appears for once maybe twice a year, and that's it.
I know about two other guys that bought a Hfoil set and after the first few sessions told me that it is very difficult to learn (like I didn't warn them 8) )
Quite a difficult situation as I can't get ant tips from a more experienced rider that can see my mistakes or wrong habits and tell me about it.
I'm thinking in visiting a spot with many riders and have the opportunity to meet Hfoiling guys and try different Hfoils as well as foil kites.
So I'm wondering how many Hfoilers do you have in your spot?

Depends on how you define "spot" ?

As I believe most have access to lots of different spots defending on wind direction :naughty:
We have more than 100 different spots relatively close, for all wind directions.

We are maybe around 40 in our area, but most often max 10 out simultaneously :D

On the 150km of coast I kite on, I think theres about 10 of us. I could be under estimating, but I'd be really surprised if there are 20.

Of my 22 sessions, 5 sessions I've had one other HF out with me

Just about every single spot in the San Francisco has at least a hand full of regular hydrofoilers that foil just about every session. It's now weird to see no foilers unless the tide is way out at shallower spots.

I'm the only kiter at my spot, period. And while I'm told there are other kiters at other local spots, I've never seen any when I've driven by in favorable winds. It's blissful. I hate busy spots.
