Agree fully with that jash999 :thumb:

Don't forget wind quality also, it means a lot, so everything else being equal, 5-6 knots can have the power as 8, or reverse.

Super clean smooth wind has loads of power, and even wind that feels stable can have micro turbulence so not much power :-?

And different wind gradients plays a major role obviously but everybody knows this.

The worst for me are the "wind black holes".
In my case the "black holes" are at 100 to 300m out sore, because of the standing waves in the air caused by the buildings about 300-400m back the beach.
Its like a kayak standing in a wave hole in white waters.
The difference is that you cannot see it and react properly before hand. :-?
The best I can do when I feel it is to keep the direction and pass through it as fast as possible.
Almost every time I try to turn back, I get kind of sucked in the hole and inevitably I reach the shore for a shame walk.

Regis-de-giens, Great video!

Looks more like what happens to me when the wind is light. I have the Ketos pocket board on the way with some bigger wings.

I will be in Cannes later in the month, I like to bike ride along that beach, nice scenery in the summer.
