Using a Moses t40 so have 2 front straps. For those using foot hooks can you get away with just foot hooks on the front and no back strap or do you need front and back foot hooks to push against to water-start?

Thanks!
My progression was following:
1. Two straps
2. Two straps with back foot standing ahead of rear strap
3. Single front hook only. Oops too much change at once
4. Single front strap
5. Single front hook

I like you have been this set up for over 7 years now,
BUT,
to jump and go faster with more control, will and have begun to make and test multiple hooks and velcro release straps as well as other ideas!

It's my second year foiling. No desire to foiljump, zero passion for race, all I want is freeride and I think next step is strapless, though with my buoyant boards he hook is handy for boardstarts.

Yesterday I tried jumping with slingshot hooks. The front one broke after 10 small jumps :(

I use just one Slingshot in F, only use it for waterstart.

A friend broke an NSI foot hook a few days ago. I broke a slingshot foot hook the next day. Neither of us had done a strapless waterstart before, but we did manage to waterstart and kite back to the beach. Both NSI and slingshot foot hooks are made of cheap plastic and I now consider them unreliable. I have since gone to a single center strap with my foot partially inserted in the strap at an angle. Works OK, but a durable foot hook would be good.
