Why would you wax it?

If you have a perfectly faired/sanded foil, I don't think waxing it would add a performance advantage. I think what you'd want to do in that case is degrease it as well as you can, perhaps with some biodegradable dish soap or alcohol on a microfiber cloth.

I've not heard of anyone using a product like Eel Snot at a regatta, but that doesn't mean they haven't.

The same as on surfboards, I have found no difference in wax "stickyness" to carbon (did it before I got my boards "coated") :thumb:

Hate wax, so use pads or using the Hexa Traction RS PRO on this full carbon board:

See a few pics in this thread: http://kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=196&t=2397303

Use 3/4 deck pads on my other carbon foil (board), but a LOT heavier of course, when wet, but tougher I assume, and softer.

If you are not talking about the carbon foilboard, but the wings and mast etc, then many will say you dont need to make it shiny, better of finesanded, and they are probably right.

IF you do like this glossy look (you can feel the difference IMO, but visible), then sand it fine first till 800 - 1200 wetsand paper, and use normal boat wax for polishing it "perfect" (like this: http://www.hr-parts.com/contents/en-us/p1536.html) - have done that several times on repairs for shiny look.

Now some brands, also Ketos, make the carbon matte from the start.

I was considering a wax sealer after constant scratch repairs using glazing putty...epoxy is a good sealer but Im constantly scratching it on a pebble shoreline (yes we all know to go out deep but sh*t always seems to happen to all foilers)
