Hi guys I'm hoping you can help.
We had booked for a holiday to Cuba in January but it looks like Hurricane Irma has devistated the island .
It's truly Awful what has happened and I feel sorry for the people who live there.
Unfortunately I can only get time off work in January and Febuary and so I'm looking for an alternative location , anywhere in the world where people think foiling would be good .
Any ideas ?

Santa Lucia Resorts will be up and running for sure by January. It's a great place to Foil. I will be foiling there in November

My fully biased suggestion: try Turks and Caicos.
On the Caicos bank or the lagoon side, fantastic conditions.
Caicos bank = foiling in a giant pool
Lagoon side = foiling in an aquarium
Usually 7m or 10m weather for foiling.
The caicos bank can be challenging at low tide, so I bring 70cm and 90cm masts.
Some impact from Irma there for sure... but the airport already reopened, and my house there has no damage and is already up and running.

Cheers guys.
Peter , is the Langabahn deep enough for foiling and safe ? . It's one of the places I'd thought about !
Turks and Caicos sounds great ,

Langebaan waters are freezing cold, the wind will often be gusty and howling 25+ knots, and it will be packed with freestylers, beginners, and people taking lessons in January.
When I think of a good foiling location, I think light winds, clear flat warm water, and tropical beautiful locations to go and explore. Langebaan is definitely a stunning place with loads of cool wildlife (birds, seals, and sometimes even killer whales), but I wouldn't go there for foiling tbh.

There are 4 resorts side by side in Santa Lucia, Cuba. They are all about the same. They each have kite launch areas. Just stay out of the swim zones.
