I have a low volume board and don't find it helps to try and sit on it when LW relaunching.

Instead I wear a second leash and leash up the board before attempting the relaunch, that way if it's too light to get it back up I don't lose the board.

my board is a "0" volume 148x48x2 cm Arriba Arriba foilboard.
even on this board I sit to relaunch if the wind is below 12 knots or so.
it lifts me just some centimeters but the situation gets much more balanced than when just swimming without board.
and, when I sit on the board, I don't loose it.
in higher winds most of the times the kite launches so easy and fast that I don't even take the time to get sitting on the board.

I am still at the learner stage where I am just starting to up and foil on a LF Rocket foil board.

I have not yet dropped my kite in really deep water and was wondering when I do so....which I surely will,
when attempting the relaunch sitting on the board do you just straddle the board like you would a surf board waiting for a wave?

I was also wondering if anyone had a video of themselves or someone doing such a relaunch while straddling
their board that they could kindly post here??..Cheers :)

I have LF foil also. Just sit in the middle of the board, and hold it with your legs. Its rather easy, just find the correct balance and its pretty relaxing to do relaunches from this position.

I have a high volume board and find sitting on the board for any period of time extremely difficult and frustrating to attempt. I guess it takes a degree of practice. It seems like a really great idea, though.

I just never put my kite in the water.
