So i was in El Cuyo mex last week. Riding my Ghost WHisperer with a 545 wing. It was super choppy and large swell. I could not foil. It was like i was learning all over again.
So question, i was about to pull the trigger on the moses 548 front wing. But from reading here, everyone seems to dig that 633. Is the surface area that much different? is the 545 and the 548 too close in size to have both?
The 548 and 633 are very different wings, im not sure about the 545 GW but i think someone said that is similar to the 558 from moses !?

Pow,
What makes you think the 548 is best? I'm 76-78 kgs and found the 550 is better in those conditions. As I understand it the wing you have is a bit racyer than the 550 and 548. It's supposed to be the 558 wing. 548 will be more for heavier rider compared to 550.
I bought 548 thinking it will be easier and slower than 550, but not noticeable to me. Now have 590 and find it has good " gap" to 550. But 590 is not easier in chop and wavy conditions. I was at Cabarete in mega chop and 550 was the ticket.
I'll sell you my 548 wing, but I'm in Sweden, but can probably ship fairly low cost, it's light. 120 usd + shipping? pm me if interested.

Just out of curiosity. What is the next size smaller wing under the 633? I saw one firsthand the other day, it's quite large.

You would want to look at the 590 then.
Cheers,

I've been riding the 550 a season, learned on it. Got the 590 and been out 4 hours on it. It's bigger but a reasonable step up from the 550. Kind of like a step between a 9 and 12 kite. It's still as fast as the 550 I think, but can slow in transitions, is more roll and pitch stable. I found it a bit too much in 20 knots wind and big chop and waves. I'd still say it's a powered Freeriding wing for lighter winds or smaller kite.

I think the next size down from the 633 in terms of lift is the 683. but unless you're jumping there's very little downside of the 633 for freeride. its nimble not slow or boring it's not draggy and goes upwind very well. Also any little wave or bump generates speed so you hardly need the kite once on foil. It blows me away how small a kite you can ride with this wing.

The 683. It has larger wingspan but it’s narrower and thinner. I didn’t measure the area but I’d expect it to have less lift and be faster than 633.
The 590 which Frank and Tom mentioned is next actually smaller but still excellent wing. Its size/area is of Slingshot H5 so don’t expect extreme lowend.
It fits 680/647 kite fuselages and is a great wing otherwise.

Agree.
But as he only judged by the look of the 633, most likely he would have asked the same question if he would have seen the 683
That is why my answer was 590.
Also the 590 is the biggest kite-specific Moses wing that fits the kite fuselages.
While 633 and 683 need a different fuselage, that fits the kite masts too though.
Cheers,
Frank

i bought the 590 from Moses in the US, and the 548 from Tom W. Can not wait to use them. I am landlocked so wont get to use them till i go somewhere to kite.
I read this entire thread, all 34 pages. Such great info.
Any idea if i will need longer screws for either of these wings to mount to my fuselage, i have the slingy ghost whisperer.

The 590 comes with the correct screws it is supposed to be used with.
The 548 will be good to go with what you got.
Cheers,
Frank
