I sailed the modified T60 (with tracks) yesterday back to back with the Groove Skate, and 633 Onda wave wing,
Sea state was mainly big swell (6-8ft) on the outside ,and quickly moving 4-6ft swell closer in, with small swell and flatish water close in, wind was strong, 6mtr conditions yet again,
First out on the Moses,
It was immediately apparent just how easy it is to get going from a tighter angle to the wind,(than when using my Groove Skate) the longer nose and beveled bottom just grip and facilitate a very quick - up and away - responce, and the ride up to maximum speed is silky smooth level flight, with the footstraps right forward and the mast now set further back I did appreciate the more laid back ride being able to place my rear foot back near the rear strap, which was in its most rear position,
it felt just so right, going into the big swell on the outside things were less stable as expected, but slowing down and picking my lines was easy if a little sticky at times with the nose touching down on the big ones, but then on the ride back in the new balance point was a massive plus,
with my wider stance and front foot well forward I was able to drop down onto the fast moving swells and commit so much better than before, hard fast carves were more controlled, more fun, and I just knew I had been riding faster on a wave than ever before,
and when I downloaded the speed track this speed was confirmed at 23 knts, that feels so fast when your pushing hard down on your front leg, being pushed from behind and with one arm outstretched and one eye on the kite to ensure its keeping pace,
Gybing round to toeside felt smoother and with my wider stance the upwind angle was more locked in as was the carve back to heel side.
So it's no surprise to hear that my experience on the modified T60 was a complete success.
