Good Hydrofoil conditions in Italy and Spain in November, where?

Postby NEkitesurfing » Sun Oct 22, 2017 8:08 pm

Where are good spots for hydrofoiling in Italy and Spain in November? Wind around 12 knots, no waves, no seaweed, water depth >= 1,5 m, with good temperatures for a wetsuit and space for relaunching the kite.

Where can I find good hydrofoil conditions in Italy and Spain in December with constant wind, no waves and good temperatures not below 17 degrees Celsius?

Fuerteventura maybe?
We land there tomorrow, and the forcast for the next 7 days is perfect foiling conditions.
24c, 17-20 mph every day.
We booked it on Tuesday after I discovered the wind would be (forecast) spot on.

First two days here in Fuerteventura have been full on, 8 mtr on Monday with 6 foot swell and reef waves to add in a bit of spice, today was calmer but still big swell but fantastic for developing wave skills near the reefs, I have never been so fast on the foil, and as for your question about Italy, an Italian guy came up to me after I had finished for the day and was almost in tears when he discovered the foil I was using was made in Italy, he said it was so fantastic to see such a thing, so fast and so fantastic to look at, but he did say he has never seen one before even on Lake Garda, which made me wonder if he has been there in the last few years?
I am off to Lake Como in August, one of my favourite places as I can get to the lake high in Swizerland in the ski resort just over the Italian border, Silverplana. Cold but should be brilliant.

Good info. I am also looking for a good holiday foil spot near or in Europe during November/begin December.

Still a few questions:
What is the best spot for foiling in Fuerte?
What about the rocks? Should be shallow on quite a few spots and easily to damage your foil on.
Do you need a car or can you stay in one place?

Marminor in spain. Looks good on the map, seems a flat water spot. What is the best beach spot to stay? Has anyone experience?

Whats good about Talamone / Italy, wind predictions or flat water?

Cheers Frank

Today on flag beach in Fuerteventura was mad, crazy wind, could not get the foil through the shore break, dead onshore, had to go out on twintip, everyone abandoned the beach due to sand blasting, apart from the guys on the water.
There are many hard core spots on Fuerteventura but after trying some and walking away from some quite nasty spots I think Flag beach comes out on top as the best option, yes you need to do your homework on the spot, low tide can be rocky and you need to take advise on where to enter the water, there are a few good deep channels to get out to the deep water without drama, but enter like a fool and you will regret it. This is not a flat water spot, but once you get used to it,it's brilliant for improving your open sea water skills, good rescue back up is a must from the guys at the water sports centre on the beach.
You don't need a car, but it's worth having one if you want to look around, I have all my kit stored for 7 months of the year at the kite centre ( twintip and foil),this makes things so much easier for me to get to the island every 5-6 weeks in winter, and so much cheaper than sports equipment charges, and of course no large car needed from the airport.
I stay at the Rui- (tres island hotel) on the beach, 300yard walk to the kite centre.
Shorty wetsuit all year :thumb:

Has Talamone wind in November/ Dezember? Looking at Windguru and Windfinder the wind can come from all directions and is not very reliable.
