When it's windy....

Pedro, I have tried with my other bars "short" 21-22 m lines, several times as I knew it would take time to adapt - but could not get used to it at all...

It is the on/off feeling that is awful (for me) - no fluid pull in turns possible.

Of course the on/off also makes it a lot easier to ride and control in more wind/overpowered

But I have chosen to ride on waveboards when too much for a 3.5 m2 (which is A LOT of wind anyways), and sometimes also when a 5 m2 is too big for hydrofoiling as waves are great most often now

True about the on/off, the only thing i dont like in those conditions together with not being able to loop the kite smoothly.

Unfortunately the footage is rather poor as I realised that my stick with gopro sinks and had to concentrate not to lose it.
No jumping.
The highest wave 5m (last cut). The rest 2-3m.

I'm with PJ Sofine. Complete beginner and struggeling (too much ?). So only when there's not enough wind for the TT.

We used to wear drysuits. Not anymore.
They can't beat proper surfing wetsuit in terms of comfort and safety.
Additionally we drift a lot.
6mm neoprene always provides solid buoyancy.
A leaking drysuit works like anchors pulling a body down the surface.

Maybe it looks cold but our limit to describe cold is below +5.
The real COLD is sub zero.
Anything above +5 is OK.

Ive a drysuit for those 10ºC days with high windchill, from Ocean Rodeo, i always leave some air inside so it provides very good buoyancy, leaking can be a problem yes, lukily it didnt happen yet.

Hydrofoil is only a light wind toy around here, a survival tool for the summer when there is ~6 months of 10-12 knots max a few days a week. Probably partially due to the fact that the ocean gets really choppy with breaking waves when the wind is above 15kts, so the foil would be really difficult to get out on. There are more fun things to do
