6 weeks later .. my Skate has arrived - as weeks went by, right @ my holiday destination ! :thumb:
As it‘s a custom, I had Michele sent some wishes:
- Colour scheme
- multiple fixing points for straps front and back
- fully compatible for both, Moses 633 and 590 when riding strapped

I was out today with my SS Alien Air first - to try 633 „isolated“. Semi stoked.
Then I took the Skate - being a bit (or massively :cool2: ) concerned as it‘s soooo small and thin and me being just a advanced beginner. But it rides just perfect. Wow. The 633 feels completely different. If I would read this in another post I‘d think bla bla bla. Can‘t explain. Alien Air for low winds ? If nothing unexpected is going to happen during my holiday stay I‘ll get away with a one board concept. Maybe even one foil.

So it sounds like the straps are one size fits all. I ride in very different conditions requiring everything from 5mm booties to barefoot with big feet (12US/46EU). I usually ride with one front very loose strap but have plans to start jumping with 2 straps. Any chance some adjustable straps could fit the groove skate? Slingshot straps? Others try any that fit? Thanks for any feedback.

Cheers!

You can use any strapsets you want, it is a basic simple screw attachment, so just move your own over they will all fit (just like on surfboards) :thumb:

the straps themselves have multiple hole placings for the clamp, so big or small is no problem.

The straps do have 4 holes on each side for multi width options and are really comfy. And light. I do come from SS which are adjustable and comfy at the cost of weight once wet. I do usually have two modes - summer und winter, where I need more room for the booties, so my need to engage the screedriver is quite limited. But of course I‘m not yet sure if good old SS straps won‘t overtake on the long end ..

What about jumping? Are these boards built to take a pounding or are they built for light weight, strapless foiling and less robust. I'm not the best at feathering every landing!

Thanks again!

My personal opinion is that Michele COULD build the Skate in same full carbon tech like a Fuoco in sub 2kg. Which costs 1.500€. The tech he chose seems quite robust to me and is not that „ridiculously light“ per cbm. But as it‘s a custom just tell him if you are a hard landing 100+ guy and he can put on an extra layer. To answer your question: when wakestyle was at it‘s zenith there was not a single day at the beach where a unbreakable super board could be watched on its very last jump in one piece if only the right guy attempted ..🤗👍😎

I ordered my Groove Skate pretty soon after the Gunnar video, and finally got it a couple of weeks ago. Because I was traveling , I've only had it out twice, once in flat water once in overhead surf on Sunday. Both were super fun sessions. I'm 100kg+ and riding 101cm mast with Moses 590/330. Super light and super surfy. It's wide enough to give you a little bit of time if you touch down, but you want to be on the foil most of the time. I ride 100% strapless but I'm loving this board so far. I love that I can pop in the back of my BMW X3 without disassembling at all, even with a full mast.
