Groove Skate

Anyone riding one of these? Any feedback? Seems to have loads of rocker and was wondering if this had any negative consequences such as making it hard to get going in light winds.

Just looking at pictures and video, it does appear to have an exaggerated amount of rocker. More than I have seen on any other production foil board. Also very curious how it rides.

It rides like this:

and here my review of the board.

To answer your question on light winds. It has quite a bit of width (48cm) and volume. It actually easier to get going than my raceboard in marginal winds as it has so much surface area to get going.

Also a Flat scoop/rocker-line does not automatically mean that it will get going earlier. It can sometime has the opposite effect with foilboards. One thing we are learning from the Surf and Sup foiling boards at the moment, is how important it is to have a good amount of rocker to make it easy to pump the board onto the foil earlier and get a better release.

Gunner is racing at the moment in Barcelona I think, back home on Tuesday or Wednesday,
I am looking forward to his return to flag beach, as he should be carrying my new Groove board :jump:

the right rocker can actually help you start earlier vs. a flat board as it can release and get on plane quicker. There are exceptions and many variables just saying more rocker doesn't necessarily mean poor low end.

I've also order one mostly based on Gunnar's video and review. I was looking at a few different pocket boards and this one seemed like a good option for me. I'm probably an early intermediate level foiler who's starting to get more consistent with my flying gybe transitions.

I ordered the board about a month ago and received confirmation that the board is ready last week. Super excited too get it. Unfortunately it will take some time to get to me as I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.

For those of you that have purchased this board what type of foil setup are you planning to use with it? I plan to use a new foil setup that I'm waiting for and am super excited about called Project Cedrus (custom mast and fuselage w/ Stingy wings).

Cheers

Mine has landed here on flag beach,
I will be trying it out with all my many Moses wing combinations over the next few days, from the Onga wing to the race wing and all Moses wings in-between,
My T60 carbon will be in the custom shop from tomorrow having a mast track fitted and center footstraps inserts, Magma custom boards are sorting it for me.😎
