Postby AndersP » Mon May 28, 2018 5:01 pm

Anyone using them or have an opinion if they are good for foiling and some twintip?

"Voyager Light Speed 12m² and 15m² New!
In order to adapt better to the high speeds capable media in the light wind, we have developed a version of Voyager elongation 12 and 15.

Lightweight, powerful, manageable, with a window edge worthy of a competition wing, The Traveling light speed are equipped with a single center strut to control the profile and facilitate the re-launch".

Pedro do you know what kind of inflate valve is on the storm voyager ? Mine just tore along the edge where it is welded to the bladder in a spot that is very hard to fix.

Pedro, Why would you prefer the more low aspect kite?
The main goal for me is to have a fast LEI kite that stays in the air in weak conditions. It should also be a bit more easy/safe to self land than a strutless.

I just think their high aspect model does not do well in lightwinds (i owned one), the medium aspect one with no center rib works much better in lightwinds and its great for freeride (also owned one). Any LEI is cake to land, go try and self land a Foil kite :)

I thought that the 1 strut model was new this year but i might be wrong on that. Are both models equal in speed and pointing (good upwind)?

I would also prefer the higher AR kite, as it would be better in marginal winds, everything else being equal, more power when flown or ridden fast.

But it is not (equal), apparently it has huge windrange, jumps like crazy and awesome upwind - but on cost of low end grunt.

Not the AR itself, but other design parameters (profile).

It turns a lot slower, THIS is because of the AR no matter if better otherwise in general, so should also be taken into consideration.

One strut or strutless, can see absolutely no difference in terms of landing (I have both).

When you say "fast" what do you mean Anders ?

In native English fast implies "fast turning".
In other languages (ours t.ex), fast means fast (forward) flying.

These two parameters are almost mutually exclusive, if you have one you lose the other :naughty:

You are right the 1 strut is new.

But it is two completely different kites, both are 2018 models.

The 1 strut is by far the "fastest" in terms of upwind and speed and jump and so on, very high aspect so turn slower.
The limited edition (strutless) is a freeride kite, turns faster and good low end, but upper end and speed and upwind vmg is limited of course.

Does anyone know if the Strom bar is a high V or a low V split?
