I was warned about this when I first started just 12 months ago, plummet wrote: ↑Sun Jun 10, 2018 4:53 amIt's hard to explain. When i started foiling the board would hunt me down and smack into me. Now, whenever I crash it doesn't. I think I have learned to master the art of a toe flick and dive as I exit the foil. Sends the foil in one direction while i go in the other.
I really don't know how to explain it.
It worried me a little as it sounds so dangerous, however my sailing buddy who started 18 months before me, had this happen to him all the time,
his trips to hospital for glue or stitches made him a regular visitor, and this really put me off taking up the sport.
Then he changed from his very heavy foil set up to a Carbon set and lightweight 3.5kg board,
After this the board following him into a crash nightmare stopped completely.
With this in mind after 4 weeks on my heavy newbie gear I swapped it out for my mega lightweight Moses gear, and in over a thousand crashes not once has the board followed me.
