Hi,
Is the 3 bolts alu strut becoming a standard? Are many producers using the same profile or does it only look identical?
Greetings,
Jaros

Seems like it.
Seen this masts on foils from RRD, Takuma, Naish and Gong.
I'm sure there are other manufacturers using them and I think the reason is that chineese factories are offering this masts for a good price.

I think reason here is just to fit kitefoilbox standard.
I think the basic idea of kitefoil box to allow one or two screw connection resutling in 3 holes is not bad. And also not to have them all in the same distance,
but todays best strut profiles in alu or same in carbon are just to small to fit 80 mm of distance for the needed M8 screws. Or they cause draggy fat profiles as that one on the picture.
Around 2 x 30 mm would have been much better, but it seems as now it is maybe to late to chance standard, isn't it?

i'd love to know the exact measurements of all masts to be able to figure out compatibility.
here is what i measured from my North speedster mast :
Mast thickness : 15mm
Cord : 96mm
2 bolt fixing, M8 47mm apart
Baseplate 90mm x 165mm

Zeeko's mast also uses 3 M8 bolts, but the profile is different. Longer chord, which means there is much more meat around the holes 1 and 3, and probably more torsional stiffness as a result.
Also the leading edge isn't as stupidly sharp as the one pictured, cause there's just no reason for it to be that sharp...

With hydrofoils ,there are 2 types of manufacturers. Those who develop and do there own research, and those who make stickers. The latest are more likely to use generic parts which could be compatible between them.

I would not hold breath for compatible parts among manufacturers. This stuff will always be proprietary because those that can actually manufacture will constantly be changing stuff to have differentiation. No return in making mix and match possible...only hurts them.

But only two bolts on the fuselage to mast though? That also seems to be standard for the three bolts at the plate end too.
Axis now does two bolts at both the top and bottom, but the fuselage connection uses a tongue-in-groove to stiffen that joint. At least, the SUP/surf foil does, don't know about the kite foil.
