Weight of the Groove Skate

Postby marekmk » Thu Jul 12, 2018 7:09 pm

Have tried on numerous occasions, by contacting Grove, the weight of the board and straps and no a reply back.

Have also checked the forum and find two weights, 2.5kg & 2.9kg

what is the correct weight please?

harr! good luck waiting for an early reply, I am now 6 weeks waiting for a reply to a simple few questions, they must be only replying to business critical mails due to overwhelming demand.
My groove skate is very light, under 3kg with 3 damp straps, and 4 brass T nuts and 8mm bolts, it's so light it makes me smile as I pick it up with 2 fingers to remove it from the car.
it makes my moses carbon T60 feel heavy, and that is ever so light compared to standard boards.

But both boards are great for different conditions, and feel so so different when conditions suit one or the other, two boards that contrast so well, suit me perfectly, one without the other would not make me happy.
The moses with the Moses 637 race wings in flatish water with miles of open water is exciting and frightening, the flying gybes are awesome and scary at high speed,
The tiny groove is awesome with the 633 wings in wavy /choppy high wind conditions. less so in flat fast conditions where the more weighty longer more stable Moses T60, wins on the day for me.

still confused as the groove site gives 2.5 with straps ect................ before groove were snowed under they were awful at getting back. they have a great product, but a terrible business model that in the end will implode if they carry on treating their customers as they have chosen to do so from day one of going on line. is there any chance of them going under owing many orders? I hope I'm very wrong.

well, until I finally received my Skate after 45 days on order, I oftenly changed between hope, anger and desperation ..
maybe in times where people put 12 or even 1500 bucks on the desk every 2 months to check a new carbon deck, limited availability of a relatively low priced,
unique and very well performing custom board COULD BE at least a working USP. You get tons of no volume boards, you get tons of tuned down race boards. But there is only one Skate.
Right now. Not to mention it´s wearing a custom italian suit .. :thumb:
I´m buying wind-driven-fun-tools since 40 years now and never felt my heart beating like at the moment I picked up the box shown below right at my holiday destination.

Fragile!

Like a major Italian award! Congrats on the score!

The performance and fun factor is huge.

I have not weighed mine because I know what light feels like and this does not need to be any lighter. Seems to be spot on for size and weight and design.

When a foil board makes you want to try any and all new moves, you now you’re riding a gem.

Enjoy!
