I know this has been discussed before in the Moses 2018 thread, but lately no news on this. I am riding a Moses 633 on T60 board, with front straps all the way up front and back foot (no straps) at about front inserts of mast. This is ok balance wise but feet quite close together. How about the mods with shims (like from skshapes (see below), some washers as shims in stabiliser or even washer/shim in mast/fusalage connection. Any one yet got experience or should I just get a board with rails?
Thanks, Stinos
Recently a lot of kitefoilers recognized that the all-new Moses Onda wing is a superior light wind weapon. Due to this wing was not designed for speed the lift and front leg pressure are too high when it comes to kitefoilling. Even when they put the foil all the way back.
So the last months we developed a shim for this light wind monster. Because all our team and test riders were impressed we will have them now official in our assortment.
- Onda Shim 2° black (10€)
- Onda Shim 3° white (10€)
Shipping within Europe 3€

So when to use 2 and when to use 3 degrees one?
Which one will keep the mast in same position as with 590 wing and what would be any negative side effects of shimming?

Consider only putting a shim at the connection of mast and fuse. Google “Delta Shim Foil” and there is a slick 6 min video that explains the science and how to do it. It takes 3 minutes! On a 105 cm mast, one CCard thickness of shim = about 1.25” of foot movement on the deck. If you have the 91 mast I’d suppose it would be about 1”.

Dude, we do ride strapless. The issue is your feet still want to stay in the same sweet spot and not an inch and a half off (back and forth depending on which wing you mounted)

OP said front straps...
regardless, what does it matter if your feet are 1.5 inch further on the 633 if your riding strapless...add 1.5" wax/pad if you need it fwd of the pad... or im with Oregonkiter and shim the fuselage, don't cripple that foil by shimming the rear wing, whats the point, get a board with tracks

I can tell you with the black sk shim I can ride it just fine in same position as the 637 race wing.

so whats da verdict in feel? maybe im wrong as far as crippling it, does it still ride like a 633 in feel or does it just lift less and feel like u need to keep your speed up and ride like a 683?

I don't have a frame of reference for it without, but lots of reference with foil setups in general....it's smooth and very nice to ride, so I would say crippling it is strong words. It's a bit like throwing in a tiny bit of down elevator on an aircraft. That said, the foils are designed to run at neutral trim so it must impact it a bit. I like the mast angle suggestion above and will give that a try.
