What a good 31 mile session looks like on my gps

Postby Foil » Thu Aug 02, 2018 3:59 am

31 miles on a smooth rolling sea, 3 to 4 ft rolling gentle waves with 5-6 ft swell, made for a perfect 5 hour session with many hydration stops, staying on toeside for half the time just going with the waves and riding all the way in then back out to the sea swell to catch another ride in,
The 633 wing and fully depowered 8 MTR Reo made the experience one of my dream sessions

Now that's an impressive session. :D

Your GPS tracks remind me of a line tangle I had last week.

Very cool. Wow, 5h, 31 mile session. Impressive. I'll just keep my far inferior GPS traces to myself.

I'm doing 10-13 mph (17-20 kmh) average session speed according to my Suunto Ambit, on my Onda 633.
Just Freeriding around.

That's a good one!

This was a 50 mile session in a narrow deep channel:

my 31 mile 5 hour session was done on my wave wing 633 in a wave bay so speed was not a target.just fun carving and riding on smooth wave sets.
A few weeks ago I did a 38 mile session over a lunch time session, but this time on the massive expanse of lake Como, and using my race wings, my maximum speed was 48 kmph, not fantastic but still felt fast for me, and way faster than any other thing on the water that day, great fun chasing down other straight line craft, no jet skis but plenty of windsurfers, (jet skis would have been too much)
