GPS Action Replay - Help

Postby Lokihel » Sun Sep 09, 2018 9:16 am

I have downloaded the free version of GPS Action Replay to process my GPX files from the GPS tracker. Basically I just want my see my polars.

I can get the software to run, and load the GPX file. Then I can't get anything else to work.
  • I can see the trace, but no map background?
  • If I select the "view polar" from the dropdown menu, an empty polar graph appears. None of my data is shown. However, on the main map the program has calculated the wind direction..
Is the pro version necessary?
Otherwise, what other software can work out polars?

Thanks in advance

My guess you need to define wind speed also to view polar.

Map - you need to create your own map background.

There are no maps in this software. You need to download it from outside sources (Google Earth).
Manual Chapter C.2:
http://www.gpsactionreplay.com/GpsarProManual.pdf
If I select the "view polar" from the dropdown menu, an empty polar graph appears.
Once you open a track change a view to "Polar plot".
Make sure that your track is selected by "Tracks Toolbox" - top right corner.
if it does not work reinstall the programme.
Is the pro version necessary?
Negative but it's worth to spend 4 pints of beer for the author for this great software.
You need couple of hours to familiarise with it.
Beginning sucks but later you should enjoy it.
My fundamental software for racing analyses.

After some troubleshooting I found that for some reason the software is unable to read the timestamp. My speed is zero or infinity.
I opened the GPX file with GPS Track Editor, exported back into GPX, and this time it works.

Interesting to see the polar at last!

I will certainly consider buying the pro version as it is relatively cheap and will support the author.
