Confusion on Slingshot's 2019 line

Postby Adventure Logs » Tue Sep 18, 2018 7:45 am

I have the original Hoverglide NF2 which I'm looking at replacing due to tip deterioration and to help learn jibes on foil. I've heard fantastic stuff about the Moses Onda 633 and know that Slingshot has basically a copy of that but I'm unsure which model it is exactly. Also is any of my NF2 setup usable with that (stab, mast?). Do they only have a carbon version? I'm thinking that the carbon version would be better since most of my kiteboarding is traveling but I'm worried about how durable it is. I'm assuming if I do go carbon, I would have to get an entire setup. So can anyone shed on light on this confusion on exactly what I need? Thanks!

I believe it would be the Ghost Whisper 91. It is not compatable with the HoverGlide. You would have to by the mast and fuselage as well. They are completely different from what I have seen. I'm not a foiler but know a lot of guys that are and most of them are either on the Moses or the Hoverglides.

Thanks for the quick response. I guess just buying the front wing is not an option. Is the mounting spacing the same? I had to drill two holes larger to fit my Nobile split board and rather that not be required if I buy an expensive carbon foil.

To keep fuselage/mast/stabilizer and replace just the front wing you can get yourself Space Skate 65cm (H4) wing to get the closest to features 633 delivers.
And you can put Gamma 68cm (H2) or Time Code 68cm (H1) as something in between your H5 and H4 but certainly delivering lower end (lower stall speed), earlier take off (compared to H5), but still a smooth ride

I have not used the carbon setup but I have the h4 (now called space skate), the infinity 76 and 84 wings and they all work on the same fuselage. It is the switch fuselage that I use, not sure if that is what yours is. They are very durable and I do not notice the weight in the water while foiling.the h4 is a lot of fun, early to lift and easy to turn and easy to control. It is not fast but that is not what i am after. A friend has the moses 633 and has used the h4 and really liked both. He prefers the 633 but he is a very good kiter and can get more out of his equipment. Based on what he said the h4 would be a much cheaper addition to your setup and should be fun.

That I do not know. I know it's not a problem with the SS boards because they use that track system.

Do you know how heavy is the infinity 76? I’m not worried about the weight while fouling but very concerned for traveling. This year so far I’ve been to almost 20 countries and I’ve taken my gear with me almost every time. Weight really matters in my situation.

If you can afford to go to 20 countries in one year (that's pretty much my lifetime total) then you can surely afford to buy a whole carbon setup. The Moses setup Grigory has is ridiculously light compared to the Hoverglide I have.

While most of my traveling is due to work, point taken lol

I think for kiting the 633 and 590 combo is awesome. You can do 633 and 683S to narrow it down to single fuselage and stabilizer and who knows what 2019 model line would bring. Hopefully a larger wing to match 647 fuselage.

The 76 and 84 wings feel to be lighter than Hx wings from 2016-2017 but I didn’t put them on scale and aluminum Hoverglide mast and squarepants/heavyweight fuselage are just a bit too heavy
