I’ve owned both 590 and 633 and I kind of like each for different purpose. 590 is fast and is fun to play on at a larger body of water. 633 is slower but is an amazing lightwind option as well as toy for limited space (smaller lakes).

If you ever rode Segway on a long haul it feels the same as 633 - fun on curvy road but boring (and demands extra effort) on a long straight line.

Both use different fuselages and that’s why I’m trying to pick guys’ brain on how does 683s stand compared to 590 so I might downsize to one fuselage/stabilizer and 683s/633 wings only

I was at Flag beach a few weeks ago and people were asking the same question, Gunnar the pro there had not had one to use and test as yet, and he uses the 633 a lot so he could give balanced feedback if and when he gets the 683.
I might be wrong but one of our forum members tested this wing against the 633 when it first came out, I remember as the wings were laid out, and he pointed out the larger size wing the 683 was in fact a smaller wing than the 633,
again I might be wrong but was it Famous Frank who had the wings and reported back on here?

I tested SUP wings kiting lately.
Quite interesting.
They need their own fuselage though! But that fits the kite masts.

Hi Frank
I have been told you got out on the big wings, I am keen to know your thoughts :thumb:

Not so famous

Hi Colin,

who told you that? ;)

Been riding both setups: 633/483 and 683/483
Both with the SUP fuselage (of course, as only this fits the frontwings) connected to the 101 (kite) mast.

Initially I preferred the 683, but as I found out after switching between both and also kite wings in between that was because it feels closer to the feeling I am used to. Only that my stance had to move forward quite a bit (15+cm).
While the 633 allows more of the same/similar stance/trim as the kite wings, which makes it easier to use on the same board. And the 633 has more different characteristics to add to what there already is with the kite wings. It is way thicker than the 683.
So 633 is what I ordered for customers that want a super big wing for kiting.
It can go super slow with very little kite power, but I also rode it at 40km/h.
It stays comfortable pitch stable all the way.
Used it with 5m Hyperlink in strong wings, 12m Hyperlink UL in medium to light conditions, then 7m Hyperlink the same day and 19m R1 on a very light day.
Two sessions that had small wind waves too, feels amazing to get the drive of the 'wave' while trying to just keep the kite flying. Can not wait to ride some better wave conditions with it.
Learning to foil could be a walk in the park with it. I will give it a go with somebody new to foiling as soon as the water is not close to freezing anymore..

Certainly 683s is smaller with reported area ~1000cm^2 compared to ~1280cm^2 of 633
683s is 50mm longer wingspan but it’s narrower and as reported by Frank it’s thinner (also looking at instructions it uses shorter bolts, so yes, it’s thinner)

Which overall must make it faster wing and maybe a replacement of 590 in terms of speed, but lower end than 590. And very importantly - same fuselage and stabilizer.

Again, all that said, I’d love to hear from someone who had a chance to demo that wing.

it has 683 span ?? it must be much less agile than the 590. Then i dont understand the point. the 633 is slower yes, but is way more agile than the 590, making it more fun.

what you are after is a fast wing and 633 type wing on the same fuselage ?

I agree its an expense to have the extra fuselage, but its actually easier to change wings by changing the fuselage with 2 screws instead of fiddling with the 3+2 for changing the wings.

I´m heading towards what Peter Frank does- have 2 complete board and foil set-ups. A 120 or 135cm board with 101 mast + fast foil ( maybe my old 550 or get new 637) and a 90-120 board and the Fluente with 633 wing. that way i can have them both on the beach and change with kite in the air.

I'd love to try 637 but a bit concerned that when I rode 545 (butchered Moses 558) I was desperately missing lowend. 548 came as improvement and 590 made it even better. Don't get me wrong - I loved smoothness and cruising speed but concerned that 637 would be a bit disappointing from lowend perspective for me.
My board is 42" Dwarfcraft (107cm) and I'm aiming at getting 36"x16"x1" board as next step so riding board on water is less of an option for me.

oh yes, the 637 is speed machine...but heard its forgiving.
Now that I am 100% flying and not falling in for 30 min at a time, im ready for new challenge in addition to learning new transitions this coming season.

Foil: So to sum it all up the 633 has more to offer and is generally more fun...thanks for the feedback :D
