And a board painted in white!
Where I live it's so hot that if you leave a black board under the sun for a few minutes you can start cook eggs on it. The board will likely crack because the air inside will expand. A black board is an absolute no for me.

on that point,
can any credible board builder say why any air would be in a modern closed cell foam, vacuum produced, board or whatever process is used, black carbon foil board.

most modern boards are made with an EPS open cell foam, so the lighter the foam is the more air is in the foam.
In board under 25-30 l heat (expanding air) should not be a problem, but there are a lot of XPS foams that gas out and cause delamination.

I had two boards with black carbon finishes in the past. They both cracked! Builders should think that some riders live under the tropics. I only have white finish boards now and no problem.

You guys in the topics. You can easily mask off the deck pad with some tape and paper, and spray with white paint or light primer from a can. Then give it a light wet sanding with 800 sandpaper.
You could also just spray bottom and position board in sun.
Yes, it's a band-aid. Best would be if builder have you that option at order.

The cells in closed cell foam are filled with air. In addition, gasses are soluble in liquids and solids as a function of temperature and pressure. Even people can get air bubbles in them when moving from low to high pressure, as in decompression sickness. Some surf boards have a gore-Tex vent in hopes to prevent this problem.

Thanks Jakemoore,
from looking at the close up images of the 2 foams, it looks like the closed cell foam is way more robust, and much more able to resist absorbing water if the boards surface skin has been cracked or compromised in any way.

The biggest problem with a black board is going to be the laminate getting so hot the epoxy gets damaged. The laminate may delaminate from the foam surface too. Irrespective of it's air expansion or just laminate damage/ delaminate, or any color, keep your board out of the sun if you can.

Guys seem to have forgotten adding 873 to Kite-Surf section
Just like with 633, it’ll be kiters who are going to make their buck buying all this beauty.
The 683S->633->873 makes a very pretty quiver for anyone with 749 fuselage.
