Here's the 325 wing with original stab. Think it will work?

All the stabs fit both fuselages, no problem...
You can mount 330 or 325 ..

Does anyone have any more first hand information or review about the 873 wing? It's not a new wing anymore but I've searched through this forum and on Google/ YouTube and there is very little information about this wing.

Gunnar has said that the 1100 wing is better than the 873 wing for wing-foiling. I guess because the 1100 wing has a thinner profile and higher aspect ratio so it has a faster top speed than the 873. Is it that the 1100 is better than the 873 in every discipline?

I'm interested in a review or direct comparison of the 873 and 1100 for SUP surfing (without a wing or kite).

Moses 873 Front Wing

First off, Tucker at MacKite told me this wing isn't for kiting and I determined to prove him wrong. I've ridden this wing 20 times kiting, and it is a beast. Don't know how many of you cycle, but it is like riding a super fat tire bike mountain biking up steep technical terrain - just a beast.

I really use the wing for training. She is quite hard to control. Your legs will burn like fire. I used to like and ride the wing as a "longboard" wing - go straight and cruise. Its stability was like that of being on top of a picnic table. It would get a little sketchy when going over a swell because it would accelerate so much. And, you could come to a complete stop and still hover on foil for another 10 seconds! From that style of riding my complaint was usually feeling too much pull from the kite, so I tried smaller and smaller kites, down to a 5m surf kite. But still I felt a bit overpowered fairly often.

Next I started using the wing more my style which is surf style swell riding, doing bottom turns then off the tops sequencially. That wing builds some serious muscle for that type of riding because you have to work so hard to get the wing to roll/carve. Still, it is fun on the right day.

She floats like a whale. Your board will sit sideways in the water, the wing floating high on the water, and you can very easily do hands free strapless waterstarts.

Many times I would/do get out of control when pushing the wing.

She is a beast to water start because when you dive the kite she thinks you are jumping and she wants to come flying out of the water. I had to really concentrate on staying low and immediately getting all my weight on the front of the board to keep it down.

I would never own this wing instead of the 633, but I would own it in addition to.

This year I started riding it with Moses new stab - the 72cm and it is much, much stiffer and I prefer that mast.

I ride it with the 450 stab, the 483 stab is really a lot plus if you ride surf style the feel is more skatey plus the 483 lets go and slides on hard turns. I've been meaning to try the 330 stab but I think the 450 will probably be the best.

After riding the 873, when I jump on the 790 I say "wo, this is a lot easier" and when I jump back on the 633 I say "dude, why wasn't I riding this wing all along"...

Thanks for the kitesurf-based review of the 873 wing.

Have you ever used this wing for SUP/surf foiling without a kite or wingthing? I know this is a kitesurf forum, but Surf/SUP foiling is the discipline I'm interested to hear about for this wing as I have no intention of using an 873 with a kite.

Hi Dave-

Zero experience compared to the 1100, supping or surfing. However, I am a traditional sup surfer, and wannabe foil surfer, so I do have those sports in mind. In fact, the reason I bought the 873 was to do those sports. I did pick up a Slingshot alien air for foil surfing, though yet to try. And, I'm on the lookout for a sup foil board to mount the wing to.

So, for sure the wing works for those, which is why I got it. But as to whether the 1100 is better, I don't know.

Frankly, I wanted to experience the foil while atop the Alien Air board in order to envision what it would be like surfing, supping or winging. To that end, while riding and slacking the kite lines, just me, the board and the foil, it definitely worked. It pumped well and was easy to stay on foil.

I know it isn't exactly what you were after, but it is as close as my effort can help! I think!

I have both the 873 and 1100.
Bought the 873 first for SUP foiling as a beginner however did not have many sessions.
Then started Windwing on 873 and found it hard to get up on the foil and pumping was not easy.
Tried a friend's Axis which was a higher aspect wing and some improvement.
Bought the 1100 Moses and instant improve in every respect.
Back SUP foiling the last 2 days and still very much a beginner however yesterday was my best session yet.
The glide of the 1100 is amazing and way easier to pump.
I would sell the 873 but will keep it as a backup.
I use Slingshot aluminum masts with an adapter for increased stiffness, weight is not an issue if anything a benefit.

I also have the 790 and 683 both excellent for kite foiling. If wind looks super light so unable to start on 683 then the 790 works perfectly. I use the standard origonal Moses 71/2 ish mast for kiting - the number I forget.

Thanks for the review. I had expected the 873's thicker profile would make it better for pumping and small wave surf/SUP foil... but it sounds like the Moses 1100 is better than the 873 in every respect and better in every discipline (Wingfoil/ SUP foil / surf foil/ pumping)?
