Thanks for the kitesurf-based review of the 873 wing.joekitetime wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 3:07 pmMoses 873 Front Wing
First off, Tucker at MacKite told me this wing isn't for kiting and I determined to prove him wrong. I've ridden this wing 20 times kiting, and it is a beast.
Hi Dave-
Thanks for the review. I had expected the 873's thicker profile would make it better for pumping and small wave surf/SUP foil... but it sounds like the Moses 1100 is better than the 873 in every respect and better in every discipline (Wingfoil/ SUP foil / surf foil/ pumping)?Wazza Foil wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 10:06 pmI have both the 873 and 1100.
Bought the 873 first for SUP foiling as a beginner however did not have many sessions.
Then started Windwing on 873 and found it hard to get up on the foil and pumping was not easy.
Tried a friend's Axis which was a higher aspect wing and some improvement.
Bought the 1100 Moses and instant improve in every respect.
Back SUP foiling the last 2 days and still very much a beginner however yesterday was my best session yet.
The glide of the 1100 is amazing and way easier to pump.
I would sell the 873 but will keep it as a backup.
I use Slingshot aluminum masts with an adapter for increased stiffness, weight is not an issue if anything a benefit.
I also have the 790 and 683 both excellent for kite foiling. If wind looks super light so unable to start on 683 then the 790 works perfectly. I use the standard origonal Moses 71/2 ish mast for kiting - the number I forget.
