Snip...
Strange IC6 V1 should be ok, a friend has the same set up , I rode it a few times and it works great (foiling since 2005).
Snip...

THAT was a long time, a typo or one of the pioneers with Randle tests ?

As I recall the first public accessible kitefoil, Carafino, was in 2007 around the world, and Laird/Dave foiled on waves in 2006.

Rush Randle did his work and test of kitefoils in early 2000s though, so maybe he was using these - indeed a pioneer then :naughty:

Even the Flying Moth Dinghy didnt came untill 2009 (they fly around out here too now)

Or was it the AirChair he was into, as it came in the 90s, very early :D

I built my first kite hydrofoil in 2004 copying an airchair. I couldn't ride it and did not know weather it was my technique or the fault of my foil so bought a ready made foil and board from Carafino in September 2005.
The next year I taught a friend (Jerome from Radical) how to foil on that hydrofoil and we both agreed we could improve it so he shaped and sent me a few wings which I used until 2009 when I bought a Spotz. Since then I have owned foils from Taaroa, Zeeko, Ketos and others now riding an F-One Grand prix with mirage 650 and Escape 510 wings. Not the fastest, not the best in waves but it does everything really well.

Met another guy today in Brazil with same set up , but has 2018 full carbon 800 wing. He confirmed the strap placement is wrong.
Front strap 150 mm too far back....

So I guess you are experiencing too much front foot pressure when using the straps? Too be honest I tried 1 of the 2 Mitu convertibles on my spot (one with 850 the other with 600 front wing), I always ride strapless but rode the 850 wing with the straps as the owner had it set up and found it too light footed in the front to my liking... This made air jibes and tacks harder.

Having checked other F-One dedicated foilboards on the beach (5 or 6) the mast foot to strap position seems the same (no measuring tape with me). BTW I remember a few years back when F-One had a few boards made (F 51 ) with the mast insert at the wrong place (factory mistake...). Could this have happened again?

Meantime try shimming the back wind. When I first got mine there was almost 5 degrees difference between front and back wing and I hated it. I reduce it to 2 degrees and I really like it. Second solution, go strapless as it is the way to go on this kind of board.

Was just out now and coaching the guy with the fone set up. He's on short mast and 800 carbon wing. He flipped his front foothook forward, and watching him ride and fly , his front foot is in the correct position then but 150 mm ahead of the inserts. It works, but looks awkward due to foothook being backwards.

Hes not ready for strapless..

I still maintain fone made a design mistake. Pretty basic thing they got wrong.

Actually they started experimenting with foils in moth dinghies years earlier and by 2003 the moth worlds were won by a foiling moth. By 2005 the class was all foil, in 2006 there was a production model promoted at boat shows.

Aaah, I stand corrected, thanks, it seems to be 2004-5 they were standard then?
