My peak 1 second speed is 33.86 knots (62.7 kph). lecca-lecca MINIMAbeta 11M2 (disclosure - I design and sell those). Mikeslab Bullet 4. Powered up, I'd guess 15 knots or so, and I was about 120º off the wind. -stef
Very fast ! can You check long distance max/average (stability in high speed) ? about 500meters or more ? and how about upwind in this session ? Thanks for answer.

great, thanks for link. Did you care for the defatting of the wings? are the wings matte? or made into gloss? I apologize for so many questions, but probably we will not see a better result here. Did you have any problems with cavitation / ventilation at this speed?

I cleaned the foil with soapy water. Otherwise it was as it came from Chubanga. Luca told me the foil ist sanded to 1200 grit. I did not have any ventilation problems. As you can see from the track, that top speed was my just testing how fast it would go at the start of the session before starting my usual up/downwind race training routine.

Over a year ago, James rode 77.3 km/h as max speed after spikes had been cleaned out, and 71.1 over 10 seconds.

It must have been on a Spotz or Taaroa back then, with an 11 m2 Diablo as I remember, in 18-20 knots.
Assumingly he must has gone somewhat faster since that - you know him Gunnar, and sometimes he is blistering fast in terms of pure speed

Not to rain on anyone's parade but if you are using a basic GPS then they are highly subject to aberrations in speed readings. I see stupid numbers out of my Garmin Fenix every once in a while....where I know I didn't go that fast but I could certainly claim it. You really need a high frequency reading from something like a Locosys type device to have a very accurate reading.

Yeah thats my excuse...My Suunto Ambit is the problem. I have been trying to break 30 knots for ever and after every session when I think I've cracked it the numbers come back at 25-28 knots.;(

I was very disappointed when I realised 'k' on my GPS Garmin was kilometers and not knots.
